VP-SERIES Reversible Fan: Smarter radiator cleaning

The new VP-SERIES fan takes the existing patented design of the Cleanfix Reversible Fan and combines a thermal control system that enables it to have true variable pitch performance.
To achieve this effect the Cleanfix VP-SERIES fan has a small thermo element positioned at each of fan blades, which adjusts the blade angles to match the optimal requirements of temperature and revolution speed.

Cleaning Mode: How it works

Designed to purge debris and chaff from the radiator and air intake screens at full engine rpm, the Cleanfix fan can help prevent overheating of the engine, transmission and hydraulics system at the push of a button.
All Cleanfix fans use a patented pneumatic cylinder with an eccentric linkage housed inside of the central hub.  This system allows each fan blade to rotate on its own axis to change pitch and reverse the direction of airflow back through the radiator.  The blades are returned to the cooling position via spring force, ensuring reliable cooling performance, even in the event of control malfunction.

Thermal Sensitive Control:
How it works

In the beginning the pitch of the blades is in a reduced angle, but if the temperature begins to rise, the thermo elements begin to expand to move the blades to a steeper position to create more cooling performance. As the engine and hydraulics cool, the thermo elements contract and the blades begin to flatten out creating less airflow.
The complete angle variation of the Cleanfix VP-SERIES fan totals 18-degrees. This change in cooling performance can provide an extreme savings for both fuel and horsepower consumption but without compromising its ability to reverse the direction of the airflow to purge the radiator of chaff and debris.

Speed Sensitive Control: How it works

Each of the thermal elements contains an elastomer that can be compressed as fan speed increases, providing the engine and hydraulics with precisely the airflow that is needed saving you horsepower and fuel consumption at high idle speeds when the engine is not working very hard.
The speed control is also beneficial for engines that have a steady horsepower output at higher engine rpm’s.  With the horsepower output remaining steady between varying engine speeds (example 1800 rpm up to 2200 rpm), there is also no change in cooling requirements.  However, as engine speed increases so does the speed of the standard fan, which means that more airflow is created, using up horsepower and increasing fuel consumption.
The Cleanfix VP-SERIES fan can combat this unnecessary increase in cooling performance by compressing the elastomers inside of the thermal cells to flatten the blade angle and maintain only the necessary airflow needed to keep the cooling system operating efficiently.

Results

Cleanfix VP-SERIES fan means that no more frequent operational shutdowns for engine and radiator cleaning is necessary and no longer is cold weather such a prohibiting factor for ideal engine combustion and hydraulic system operation.
