Smarter radiator cleaning
|
The Problem
Modern off-highway equipment can have up to five heat
exchangers competing for cooling airflow -- engine coolant, air to air
charging, hydraulic fluid, transmission fluid and air conditioning.
These applications demand high airflow cooling fans.
High capacity cooling fans create a strong
vacuum effect, drawing in airborne material and clogging air intake screens
and radiator cores.
|

|
To prevent overheating, equipment manufacturers have
designed more aggressive fans that rob more engine
horsepower.
The Consequences
Overheating of the engines, hydraulic system and gear box.
Decreased
machine performance and increased fuel consumption.
Reduced
component life.
Increased
downtime for repairs.
Interruption
of production to clean radiators. The operator should be running the
machine, not fighting tightly clogged debris.
